Introducing FOREST consortium member - Jules Verne Institute.

Jules Verne Institute (IRT Jules Verne) is an industrial and collaborative research center for manufacturing. With their wide network of industrial and academic stakeholders, IRT Jules Verne aims at boosting the competitiveness of French industries, accelerate innovation and technology transfer and support manufacturers and promote collaborative research.

IRT Jules Verne works on the maturation of innovative technologies in 5 research areas:

  • forming and performing processes,

  • assembly and joining technologies,

  • additive manufacturing processes,

  • mobility in the industrial environment,

  • and manufacturing flexibility.

Role in the project

In the FOREST project, IRT Jules Verne is responsible for T3.2 and T3.3 on experimenting the best thermoplastic processing technique of multifunctional biocomposite. This includes coupons manufacturing and stamping & overmoulding process optimization for the newly developed materials.

IRT Jules Verne is also responsible for the aerospace demonstrator re-design with the end-user, as well as its manufacturing and mechanical testing.
