Mercedes-Benz Türk is a key player in the Turkish automotive industry, manufacturing and distributing commercial vehicles and buses since 1967.  

Located in Istanbul, the company operates two major production plants in Aksaray and Hoşdere. Mercedes-Benz Türk plays a significant role in Turkey’s economy and exports, serving markets worldwide. 

Focused on innovation and sustainability, the company actively works to minimize its environmental impact, focusing on carbon reduction, waste management, and sustainable vehicle technologies to lead Turkey’s shift toward a more sustainable transportation future.

Role in the project

Mercedes-Benz Türk is responsible for developing advanced lightweight composite demonstrators for the FOREST project. MBT is leading the creation of the bus prototype, specifically a roof covering panel made from bio-based polymers and recycled carbon fibres, maintaining safe and performative properties. The company’s work includes mechanical modelling, design validation, and creating greener, multifunctional materials to improve transportation sustainability.
